Public Liability Insurance (PLI) & P.A.T. tested (Portable Appliance Tested)

By LAW any DJ MUST have the equipment P.A.T. tested. (Portable Appliance Tested) More and more venues are asking for P.L.I. (Public Liability Insurance) and the reason for this is that their insurance doesn’t cover an outside entertainer. Then we come back to the P.A.T, even if your dj has P.L.I, without the P.A.T the insurance is invalid. Just imagine you party booked, the dj turns up and can’t produce the documents. (He won't be let in.) You’ve paid the deposit with no chance of getting it back. (He will blame the venue.) Then try and find a disco at short notice, you will pay double and more. It's not worth the risk.

I have both P.L.I. & P.A.T insurance and can produce both documents at request.
